MUETians from Electronic Engineering department scoring hat-trick of prizes in All Pakistan Students' Project Competition

An Event called PTA Gold Medal Project, organized by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, a project "GSM Based Railway Monitoring" from Mehran UET student from Electronics (ES) department Naveed Khowja (05ES124) supervised by Mr. Mehboob Khawaja and Ms. Attiya Baqai has won 1st prize: with a Gold Medal and PKR 50000 cash prize. All the student members along with Supervisors are invited in Islamabad to attend the award giving ceremony.

While in another separate event called Students Engineering Exhibition 2010 (SEE10), organized by Pakistan Air Force - Karachi Institute of Economics & Technology (PAF-KIET) on 22nd Feb 2010, the team of MUET ES students won prizes in 3 out of 5 categories. The team of MUETians was lead by Assistant Professor Ms. Attiya Baqai and Lecturer Ms. Nayab Hamirani of Electronics department of MUET. The names of the winning students are Hammad Khan’s (07ES29), Adil khan (08ES76) and Asad (08ES113), and Awais (08ES45).

In another top notch achievement of MUET Students from ES department, Hammad Khan (07ES29) under the supervision of Ms. Nayab Hamirani and Rafay Mahar (06ES02) who was supervised by Ms. Attiya Baqai scored first (gold medal and cash prize PKR 20,000) and second position (gold medal and cash prize PKR 12,000) respectively in the 25th IEEEP (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Pakistan Student Research Seminar held at Bahria University Karachi campus, on 3rd March 2010.

The Vice Chancellor Dr AQK Rajput, and the chairman ES department Prof. Dr. Bhawani S. Chowdhry congratulated all the participating/winning students and their supervisors and expressed his confidence on the fact that both the faculty members and students will continue to make Mehran UET proud.
