MUET Celebrates Arduino Day 2025

The Department of Electronic Engineering at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) proudly celebrated Arduino Day 2025 on March 21–22, 2025, under the esteemed leadership of Prof. Dr. Attiya Baqai. This event was officially recognized by the global Arduino platform, marking it as one of only 227 approved events worldwide—and notably, one of only two from Pakistan. The selected proposals were from:
- Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, led by Prof. Dr. Attiya Baqai
- Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering & Information Technology (KFUEIT), Rahim Yar Khan, led by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Bilal Tahir
This prestigious recognition highlights MUET's commitment to promoting innovation and hands-on learning in emerging technologies.
Event Highlights

Arduino Day featured a variety of engaging activities, including:
- An Arduino-Based Project Exhibition by the 23ES batch (2nd-year students), showcasing around 34 innovative projects spanning monitoring systems, communication and signal processing, object detection, security, gaming, and display technologies.
- A Keynote Talk by Prof. Dr. Attiya Baqai on “Bringing AI to the Edge: Smarter Projects with Arduino.”
The event provided a vibrant platform for students to demonstrate creativity, technical skills, and practical implementation of classroom knowledge.
Inauguration and Guests
The event was inaugurated by:
- Prof. Dr. Ashfaque Ahmed Hashmani, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical, Electronics, and Computer Engineering (FEECE)
- Prof. Dr. Wajiha Shah, Chairperson, Department of Electronic Engineering
It welcomed faculty members from various MUET departments, ISRA University, and students from ISRA Foundation School, who interacted with the student exhibitors and explored their projects.
