Student Financial Aid Office

Many of students are admitted in this University from various rural community areas and they belong to poor or middle class families, while it is noted that today’s expenditures on education have become very high, consequently it is difficult for them to pursue their education due to financial constraints.

Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro by realizing the continuous rise in educational exposes, has taken initiative for providing financial relief to meritorious and deprived students with the financial assistances / need based scholarship programs. In this regards, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology  established the “Student Financial Aid Office” (SFAO) in August 2006, to elevate the socio-economic position of the needy & deserving students by providing access to quality education through Need-based and Merit Scholarships.

Now all Scholarships / Financial Aid Cases are routed through Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO). A centralized record of all students getting any Financial Aid is kept in the Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO).

The Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO) of Mehran U.E.T, has honor to award 2,034 (two thousand & thirty four) scholarships among eligible students during academic session 2008-2009. This figure 2,034 is an improved figure than the academic year 2007-2008 though SFAO has already awarded 1,701 (one thousand, seven hundred & one) different Scholarships & Financial Assistances / Aids during the academic year 2007-2008.

For facilitating the students, the Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO) has the services of 17 faculty members as coordinators for SFAO, from each & every engineering department of this University. The coordinator responsibility is to answer the queries of students at their department regarding the various scholarship programs, and assist the students during filling the application forms.

The Student Financial Aid Office (SFAO) has also made the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding Internal University and external Scholarship programs. Even this office has developed an Application Proforma regarding Internal University Scholarship Programs.
