IMMUET'15 & IEEE DAY

Students of 13 Electronics Section 2 organized a one day Mega Event “IMMUET’15 & IEEE Day” on 7th October 2015 in MUET’s Main Auditorium from 09:00am to 05:00pm in collaboration with IEEE MUET chapter. The highlight of the event was to feature MUET with utmost honour and to let the students feel belongingness to MUET. The chief guest of the event Engr. Syed Asif Hyder Shah, commissioner Hyderabad and a MUET alumnus expressed immense pleasure and pride to be a part of such a symbolic event. The Vice Chancellor of MUET Dr. M. A. Uqail, Dr. Aslam Chowdhry from The University of Utah and Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, registrar MUET were the guests of honour at the event.

Meanwhile, IEEE Day is celebrated every year in the first week of October and this time most fortunately team IMMUET along with IEEE MUET chapter focal persons celebrated it with full zeal by decorating the auditorium in IEEE colors followed by a cake cutting ceremony. IMMUET’15 was inaugurated by cutting a ribbon along with marvelous speeches by Dr. Mohammad Aslam Uqaili and Prof. Dr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry. The chief guest also addressed the gathering and shared his views and ideas for a prosperous MUET. He appreciated the efforts put in by the organizing team by announcing a reward amount of PKR 100,000. All the worthy guests along with the event coordinator and chairperson of Electronics department, MUET Dr. Wajiha Shah were presented with souvenirs as a token of appreciation.

IMMUET’15 comprised of several technical and non-technical competitions enough to accommodate students carrying diversified interests and targeted the FEECE departments of MUET. Students showed a splendid response towards IMMUET’15 as the team earmarked 40 volunteers, 300+ audience and almost 200+ participants.

The event encrusted following segments:

1)      My Vision Of MUET (Poster Competition)

2)      Techno-Mania (Project Competition)

3)      Scientific Appearance (Technical Presentation). Organized by IMS (Instrumentation and Measurement Society) IEEE.

4)      IQ-Knockout (Mind Quiz)

5)      Playing Geeks (Gaming Competition)

6)      Acting Souls (Skit Competition)

7)      Videography Competition

8)      Speaking Session

9)      IEEE celebrations

10)   Stalls

Competitions like Playing Geeks, Scientific Appearance, Techno- Mania and My Vision Of MUET, IQ-Knockout took place in a parallel fashion in Electronics department, Auditorium gallery, Auditorium conference hall and Main Auditorium. A highly qualified panel of judges from all departments of MUET finalized the winners for each segment.  The chief guest Engr. Syed Asif Hyder Shah along with Dean FEECE Dr. B. S Chowdhry visited all the segments and stalls. They appreciated the participants and organizers efforts, also motivated and suggested them for future endeavors.

In order to inspire and motivate the event participants and attendees, Mr Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui was invited as a motivational speaker to uplift the morals of students. His keynote address thrilled the students and energized them to run even faster after their goals.

The Star Session of this whole event was the interview video of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan (the inventor of Nuclear Bomb) that was played and certainly seized all of the audience’ attention. Team IMMUET flew all the way to Islamabad to experience an interview with ‘Man of the honour’ who is named as “Mohsin-e-Pakistan” in this country. This was certainly the first time ever in the history of Mehran University to that the students interacted with the treasure personality of Pakistan by bringing their questions infront of Sir Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.

IMMUET’15 also included segments like lucky draws and audience quiz for the audience to boost them up in the intervals. Moreover, team IMMUET sketched up their theme by also putting a stall that carried IMMUET T-shirts, cups, key chains and pens.

Furthermore, In order to pay tribute to MUET, a documentary was played in the closing ceremony that included some of the personalities of MUET who remarkably wrote their names in golden in the history, MUET milestones, Golden memories and upgradations of MUET and also an ethics video for grooming students up. All these things became the factor of all the guests admiring the event.

The event was wrapped up with Dr Tauha Hussain’s thought provoking address. Shields, Certificates and cash prizes were distribution to the winners, Best Volunteer, Organizers and Speaker.

IMMUET’15 was possible due to the untiring efforts of the organizing team, under the leadership of Dr. B.S Chowdhry and Dr. Wajiha, headed by Engr. Saba Baloch and Engr. Sara Qadeer and comprising of Engr. Yasmeen Naz Panhwar, Dr. Zulfiqar Ali Umrani, Engr. Abbas Shah and Engr. Aamir Patoli. Along with the students organizing team from 13 Electronics and volunteers from all FEECE departments. The event was co-sponsored by Abdullah Builders, Hyd Mart, Unique and Rotary Club Hyderabad. IMMUET’15 turned out to be a marvelous experience for the entire team to groom their organizing skills and signifying their affection towards MUET.
