INAUGURATION Ceremony of IEEE – Power and Energy Society MUET Chapter

Jamshoro (PR): Inauguration ceremony of  IEEE  Inc USA – Power and Energy Society MUET Chapter was held at Mehran University Auditorium,  MUET Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakisan. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqaili was the chief guest on this occasion. He said, Mehran University is committed for providing quality education to the students. Our faculty members are highly qualified from universities of national and international repute. They are utilizing their best potentials for the improvements of curricular and co-curricular activities. In this regard, IEEE PES will provide a platform for improving the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s)  of both students professionals and the students of the electrical engineering. He further said, Mehran university will provide their full support in terms of funds and university facilities for  newly inaugurated society.

Dean FEECE and IEEE PES Branch Councellor IEEE PES, Prof. Dr. B.S. Chowdhry said,  that the chapter of IEEE PES has been started first in the Sindh province for the Professional development of Engineers. He further said, this chapter will conduct short courses, student seminars and conferences, mini project and ethics competitions and many more. Moreover, the final year students will also be encouraged for their Research projects and IEEE- PES will provide funding to the best projects.

The Chairman, department of Electrical engineering briefed the participants about the highly equipped laboratories of electrical department. He further said that IEEE PES chapter will benefit the students in their academic education. He assured his full support from the department.

Branch Advisor IEEE PES, Engr. Mansoor A. Soomro briefed the participants about the objectives of the chapter. He also announced the members of organizing body, think tank and media coordinators. He further said that in the era of evolution, IEEE PES is the need of the hour. In this regard, every initiative will be taken for the betterment of the students and professionals of the electrical engineering.

During the session a video of INNAUGURATION and virtual tour of electrical department was also shown to the participants. A technical session on SMART GRID AND ITS APPLICATIONS was also conducted. Ph. D scholar Engr. Irfan Ahmed Halepoto delivered his lecture. The participants enthusiastically listened the lecture.  A large number of participants including faculty members and students of faculty of electrical, electronics and computer engineering (FEECE) attended the event.
