MoU Signing with Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR)

The MoU has been signed between PCSIR (Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) and Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET) for academic and research cooperation to strengthen the academic and research excellence.

MoU was signed by the worthy Vice Chancellor of MUET Prof. Dr. Mohammad Aslam Uqaili and the MUET delegate consisting on Dean Faculty of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering Prof. Dr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry and the Incharge Director Planning Development Mr. Saifullah Hassan was arrived at PCSIR Laboratories Complex-Karachi for further proceedings of signing agreement.

In this regard, an official signing of Agreement was held at PCSIR Laboratories Complex-Karachi on July, 10th, 2018 and the Director General PCSIR-Islamabad Mr. Mohammed Aleem Ahmed, Incharge Marketing & Commercialization Engr. A. R. Gianchandani and all the respective heads of the all departments of PCSIR were present on the occasion.   

Dr. Bhawani highlighted the importance of the MoU and briefed about possible joint research projects, trainings and other activities to be initiated by both institutions. He given detailed introduction to all participants about Mehran University and informed about all research facilities available at MUET. Moreover, he also highlighted the role of the students of MUET who could play their vital role in further advancement of research and development through their final year projects and master thesis.

DG PCSIR-Islamabad Mr. Mohammed Aleem Ahmed welcomed MUET delegate and all other participants. He appreciated the efforts of Mehran University for contributing their services in the development of the country and highlighted the pivot role of MUET for the quality education and research. He expressed his best wished for the fruitful long term cooperation under this MoU.

Engr. Gianchandani informed that PCSIR –Karachi comprising of  seven research centers; Applied Chemistry Research Center, Applied Physics, Computer & Instrumentation Center, Center For Environmental Studies, Center For The Development Of Laboratory Equipment, Engineering Services Center, Food & Marine Resources Research Center, Pharmaceutical Research Center are working day and night for the socio economic development of the country with greater emphasis on solution of industrial research oriented problems.  

On the occasion Mr. Saifullah Hassan mentioned that our Vice Chancellor  Prof Dr MA Uqaili is very keen  to start joint research and development activities under MoU for fruitful cooperation and mutual benefits and he assured the full support of  Mehran University in this regard.
