Office of the Registrar

The Registrar, Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, is the custodian of the common seal and the academic records of the University and maintains a register of undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates in the prescribed manner. The Registrar conducts elections of members of the various authorities in the prescribed manner and performs such other duties as deemed necessary. The Registrar is member/secretary of all statutory bodies (viz. Senate, Syndicate, Academic and Selection Board) of the University.

The Registrar disposes all cases in which no major questions of policy are involved or which, under the rules, or the standing orders, he/she is competent to dispose of. In addition the Registrar is responsible for the     Intra-departmental co-ordination, Inter-departmental co-ordination and the frontal contact to external departments and agencies working under Government of Sindh/Pakistan. It is the core section which involves activities related to administrative work, such that all order/notifications/circular and other internal and external correspondence.

Registrar is also responsible to look after the overall supervision of the security, sports, legal, estate, student welfare sections of the University. Office of the Registrar also acts as a bridge amongst different academic and administrative departments of University, in order to ensure smooth functioning of the University.

It is indeed a great pleasure for me to lead the office of Registrar of one of the leading engineering universities of the country. It is an honor for me that I have been appointed as Registrar, where I have remained a student and started my career as a lecturer, way back in 1996. I joined this office in August 2016 and since then I have been striving hard to bring professionalism as a whole to this University. This is a public sector University in which more than 2000 staff members working.

To become a world class University is the dream of the leadership of the many Universities. To achieve such a milestone is a difficult task. My job as a Registrar is to facilitate and coordinate various stakeholders (viz. teachers, staff and officers) of the University in achieving this dream. By the grace of Almighty Allah. Mehran University of Engineering and Technology is now considered as, distinguished public sector engineering university at national & international level, ranked as 1st in province Sindh and 2nd in Pakistan. Mehran University of Engineering and Technology has transformed and evolved from undergraduate degree awarding institute to Research University in last few years. With the help and support of the dedicated staff of my office, the Mehran University is striving hard for achieving many milestone.
