The Business Incubation Center (BIC) at Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, proudly launches its first-ever startup incubation program – Cohort 01. This initiative, supported by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), is designed to cultivate entrepreneurial talent and transform innovative ideas into viable, scalable startups. It marks a new chapter in institutional innovation within Pakistan’s public sector universities.

Program Objectives

• Foster innovation-driven entrepreneurship within MUET
• Provide structured incubation services to early-stage startups
• Enable cross-disciplinary collaboration among students, graduates, and faculty
• Build a sustainable ecosystem linking academia, industry, and investors

Who Can Apply?

Everyone with an innovative business idea is eligible to apply. MUET students and Master's students are also eligible to apply.

Applicants from all academic disciplines and departments are encouraged to apply.

Selection Process

BIC MUET employs a multi-phase, merit-based selection model:

Phase 1 – Application Launch
Open call for applications via an online portal, accessible and free to all applicants.

Phase 2 – Shortlisting & Evaluation
Initial screening based on:

• Innovation & Originality
• Technology Integration
• Revenue Model
• Market Demand

Phase 3 – Document Verification & NDAs
Collection of CNIC, photographs, and signed NDAs for identity verification and IP protection.

Phase 4 – Launchpad Event
Pitch Deck presentations evaluated by a panel of academic, industry, and investment experts based on:

• Value Proposition & Innovation
• Market Analysis & Potential
• Business Model Viability
• Financial Projections
• Team Capability
• Execution Readiness & Strategy

Phase 5 – One-on-One Interviews
Evaluation of the founding team based on:

• Team Dynamics
• Strategic Clarity
• Execution Readiness
• Resource Understanding
• Leadership & Decision-Making

Phase 6 – Final Selection
Top scoring startups from interviews and pitch deck assessments will be inducted into Cohort 01.
